In a way, creating this piece was meant to be an exorcism for me. It was an attempt to draw a connection to the masses and the biology of my own identity. The two individuals that are painted in color represent a set of variables that had a direct effect upon my identity through the filter of violence and abuse. The monochromatic pieces represent the same set of variables having a direct effect upon another person’s identity. There is a direct connection between all of these individuals and the people that they victimized by what actions they engaged in. A satire upon the inversion of support groups. This piece allows me as an artist to engage a selected part of the collective community by simultaneously withdrawing from it through this redundant process of list making. Neutrality.
